If you find yourself not quite satisfied with the level of accuracy and quality of some of your woodworking projects and joinery, be sure that you are at least using this simple tool: a marking knife! The difference between a pencil marking and marking knife is huge! About 1/16” huge! Not only is a marking knife more precise but it also has many other benefits: Can’t be accidentally sanded away easily! Precuts wood fibers to reduce tear out! Can act as a starting point or edge guide for chisels If you’re not using one of these yet, you should give it a try and see the difference! Pencils are for rough dimensions, marking knives are for precision!
